What You Will Do

  • Conduct clinical assessments to ensure patients in custody are fit for detention, interview, transfer, or release.

  • Manage minor illnesses or injuries, referring more serious conditions as appropriate.

  • Perform forensic examinations, recording injuries and collecting DNA evidence when required.

  • Assess the fitness of police officers or staff injured while on duty and provide suitable care.

  • Collect specimens under relevant legislation and ensure compliance with the Police and Criminal Evidence Act.

  • Compile and provide written statements within specified timeframes and give oral testimony as required.

  • Carry out thorough assessments of alcohol and drug intoxication, withdrawal, mental health, and learning disabilities.

  • Work alongside clinical leads to support the development of medical services and promote company policies such as Equality and Diversity and Information Governance.
