Exciting Locum Opportunity: Social Worker for Adults Learning Disabilities & Autism Team in Oldham
We have an exciting opportunity for two experienced Social Workers to join the Adults LD & Autism Team in Oldham on an ongoing basis. This locum role offers the chance to make a real impact while earning £30 hourly. If you are skilled in working with adults with learning disabilities and/or autism, and have a solid understanding of the relevant legal frameworks including DoLs / CoP paperwork and court statements, this role is tailor-made for you. What you will do:
- Prepare for social work contact by reviewing case notes and liaising with key stakeholders to gather necessary information.
- Undertake person-centred assessments of support needs, and develop and implement Care & Support Plans for Service Users, Carers, and Families.
- Address practical and emotional social care, health, and wellbeing difficulties through evaluation and updates of Care & Support Plans.
- Assist Service Users, Carers, and Families in making informed decisions as part of Self-Directed Care and Individual Budgets.
- Proactively address safeguarding concerns, manage risks, and respond to crisis situations with appropriate legal interventions.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all relevant systems are promptly updated with high-quality data.
- Attend, prepare, and participate in meetings, including court appearances and case conferences.
- Advocate on behalf of Service Users, Carers, and Families following established policies.
- Collaboratively engage with partnership agencies, including health and voluntary sector organisations.
- Stay informed and adapt to changes in social work practices through continuous professional development.
Special Conditions: A DBS check is required at the Enhanced level. A driving licence or the ability to travel independently across Oldham is preferred due to the nature of the role.
