How It Works:

This is a retainer service:
- No need to remain on site constantly.
- You should be within 60 minutes travel time of the site.
- Attend within 60 minutes if called, with average calls lasting 60-75 minutes once on site.

What you will do:

- Conduct autonomous clinical assessments to determine detainees’ fitness for detention, transfer, or release.
- Deliver treatment for minor illnesses and injuries, escalating care as necessary.
- Perform forensic examinations and gather specimens.
- Provide assessment and support for individuals with mental health concerns, safeguarding issues, drug or alcohol withdrawal, or learning disabilities.
- Ensure compliance with PACE legislation (Code C) and professional governance standards.

Requirements:

- Registered Adult Nurse or Paramedic with relevant HCPC/NMC registration.
- At least 2 years post-qualification experience ideally from A&E, Prison, Surgical, or Community Nursing backgrounds.
- ILS certification from the Resus Council.
- Trained in venepuncture.
- Level 3 Safeguarding Adults & Children qualification.
- Confident in making autonomous decisions.
