What You Will Do:

Assess the level of care provided to adults with learning disabilities in supported living environments.

Manage challenging behaviours through sensory and environmental interventions, applying moving and handling techniques.

Recommend equipment, adaptations, and assistive technology to enhance independence.

Work with the Principal Occupational Therapy Team, reporting to the Moving and Handling Optimisation Team Manager.

Collaborate closely with the Social Work LD team and Health LD therapists for comprehensive care.

Conduct risk assessments and provide training in moving and handling, with an emphasis on single-handed care.

Ensure suitability of accommodation for citizens moving in or out of supported living.
Requirements:

Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.

Experience in learning disabilities and moving and handling.

Familiarity with autism and managing challenging behaviours.

Car driver (essential for this city-wide role).
