A new long-term opportunity has just opened for an experienced Mechanical Inspector.Our Client has a requirement for a Mechanical Inspector, who will be required to work on a contract basis in South West England.Role Purpose: Support inspection and quality assurance activities on a major infrastructure project.Focus on mechanical systems, welding, and NDT verification within a highly regulated environment. Job Role Responsibilities: Carry out 2nd and 3rd party mechanical inspections on fabrication, welds, materials, and pressure equipment.Review and validate welding procedures, NDT reports, material certificates, and quality documentation.Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and regulatory requirements.Produce clear inspection reports and raise NCRs where necessary.Interface with contractors, engineers, and QA teams to resolve technical or quality issues.Support quality surveillance and contribute to maintaining high standards of integrity and assurance. Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications: CSWIP 3.1 or above.Radiographic Interpretation (RAD) certification.MPI or DPI certification.Strong background in mechanical inspection for large industrial or infrastructure projects.Experience in quality assurance, surveillance, and documentation review.Previous 2nd or 3rd party inspection experience with a notified body, inspection authority, or similar.Solid understanding of welding processes, fabrication, materials, and relevant industry standards.
