What you will do:

  • Provide operational oversight for the Mental Health Social Work Team, ensuring professional management and supervision of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Deliver specialist social care services focused on enabling recovery and enhancing the quality of life for adults with mental health issues.
  • Ensure compliance with service standards, promoting user choice and control through personalised and self-directed support plans.
  • Act as a key driver within a culture of continuous service improvement, managing resources to maintain professional standards and best practices.
  • Build effective relationships with partners within and outside the council to achieve an integrated assessment, planning, and review approach.
  • Safeguard adults at risk, embedding safety and managed risk principles into all procedures, practices, and professional advice provided.
  • Support, promote, and apply self-directed support, including direct payments and rehabilitation, to maximise user and carer choice.
  • Ensure timely and accurate data recording on relevant systems, maintaining compliance with statutory regulations, policies, and standards.
