What you will do:

  • Manage and coordinate complex child protection, children in need, and pre-proceedings cases, ensuring timely and effective interventions.
  • Undertake comprehensive assessments, risk analyses, and care planning in line with statutory safeguarding duties.
  • Lead on complex casework, including court proceedings, preparing professional reports, and presenting evidence where required.
  • Chair and contribute to strategy discussions, core groups, child protection conferences, and multi-agency safeguarding meetings.
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of children under your care by coordinating robust intervention strategies.
  • Lead on high-stakes casework, liaising with court personnel and fostering partnerships across multi-agency teams to uphold children's rights and needs.
  • Empower and mentor less experienced colleagues by sharing knowledge and expertise.
  • Drive a culture of learning and excellence within the team.
Person Specification:
  • Degree or postgraduate qualification in Social Work.
  • Completion of the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment.
  • Commitment to Continuing Professional Development.
  • Current registration with Social Work England is essential.
  • Deep understanding of the Children Act 1989 and 2004, safeguarding guidelines, and relevant legislation.
  • Significant post-qualification experience managing complex children’s social care cases.
