An excellent opportunity for a Sous Chef to join a well-regarded, produce-led bistro in East London, working alongside a talented Head Chef within a growing restaurant group.

The restaurant showcases British seasonal produce with classic European technique, serving a regularly changing menu of small plates and hearty bistro dishes. This is a hands-on role in an open kitchen with strong guest interaction. The position would suit a Sous Chef who is comfortable with, menu development, people management and produce, and who wants to grow with a group that is opening new sites.

The Role

• Support the Head Chef across all aspects of the kitchen
• Management, including stock, ordering, rotas and food safety
• Contribute to menu development and regular menu changes
• Lead and develop the kitchen brigade
• Work closely with suppliers and seasonal produce
• Maintain high standards of food quality and consistency
• Engage with guests in an open kitchen setting

The Group

• Independent London restaurant group with multiple sites
• Regular group chef meetings, cook-offs and development days
• Kitchen team involved in wine tastings
• Clear progression pathway as the group opens new sites

The Ideal Sous Chef

• Quality, fresh food background
• French or European bistro experience an advantage
• Comfortable with 360 management, menu development and people management
• Strong on produce, suppliers and seasonal cooking
• Confident leader who develops their team
• Commercially sharp on stock, cost control and systems
• Comfortable in an open kitchen
