What you will do
• Assessment and Intervention: Undertake meaningful assessments and interventions with children and families, tailoring support to individual circumstances.
• Kinship Care Assessments: Complete viability assessments and full assessments for prospective Kinship Carers.
• Court and Panel Work: Prepare detailed reports and present findings to Fostering Panels and the Court where required.
• Case Management: Manage complex cases while ensuring compliance with statutory guidance and best practice.
• Duty Responsibilities: Participate in the duty rota, responding to emergency viability assessments and Regulation 24 assessments.
• Relationship Building: Develop and maintain positive relationships with children, carers, and families to promote stability and positive outcomes.
• Multi-Agency Working: Work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies to safeguard and support children.
• Care Planning: Contribute to effective care planning and permanency arrangements that meet the needs of children and young people.
• Professional Leadership: Support good practice within the team and contribute to high standards of service delivery.
Qualifications / Requirements
• Social Work Qualification: Degree in Social Work or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Registration: Current Social Work England registration.
• Experience: Significant post-qualification experience within Children's Social Care.
• Kinship and Fostering Knowledge: Experience completing viability, kinship, connected carers, or fostering assessments.
• Court Experience: Ability to prepare court reports and present professional evidence where required.
• Safeguarding Knowledge: Strong understanding of child protection, safeguarding, and relevant legislation.
• Communication Skills: Excellent assessment, report-writing, and interpersonal skills.
• Organisational Skills: Ability to manage competing priorities within a busy service environment.
