What you will do

  • Work independently to manage a complex and multifaceted caseload, providing specialist support to vulnerable children and families.
  • Engage directly with children, young people, and families, focusing on child safety and wellbeing.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of social needs and risks affecting children, with an emphasis on parental capacity for change.
  • Identify various forms of harm and risk indicators, ensuring they are addressed effectively.
  • Ensure SMART, child-centred plans are implemented, enabling all stakeholders to measure and sustain progress in child protection planning.
  • Provide statutory support for high-need, high-risk cases, including preparation of reports for court hearings.
  • Uphold professional standards as defined by Social Work England and adhere to the BASW Professional Capabilities Framework for Experienced Social Workers.

What we’re looking for

  • Qualified Social Workers (Degree/DipSW/CQSW) registered with Social Work England.
  • A proven track record in strengths-based social work, particularly with children and adults in safeguarding contexts.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in relevant areas are beneficial.
  • Willingness to be a Practice Educator and supervise student social workers.
