What you will do

• Lead, supervise, and manage a team of Social Workers delivering statutory social work services to children and young people with disabilities.
• Ensure assessments, care plans, and interventions are robust, evidence-based, outcome-focused, and completed within statutory timescales.
• Oversee safeguarding activity and ensure compliance with the Children Act 1989 and 2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and local safeguarding procedures.
• Allocate work effectively according to complexity, risk, and practitioner capability while monitoring workload and service performance.

Person Specification

Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work, CQSW, DipSW or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Management qualification or evidence of leadership development is desirable.

Registration & Compliance

• Current registration with Social Work England (SWE).

Experience

• Significant post-qualification social work experience within Children's Services.
• Experience managing or supervising practitioners within a statutory social work environment.
• Proven experience working with children and young people with disabilities and complex needs.
