Social Worker within the MASH (Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub) Team in Conwy, earning £39.95 per hour. This ongoing full-time locum opportunity offers 37 hours per week and the chance to work at the front door of Children's Services, making a real difference to children and families through effective safeguarding and early intervention. Based at the Coed Pella office in Colwyn Bay, this role is expected to run for approximately 12 weeks, with the potential for extension.

What you will do
- Duty Social Work: Deliver high-quality duty and safeguarding services to children, young people, and families.
- Referral Screening: Support the Team Manager with the triage and screening of incoming referrals.
- Decision Making: Contribute to timely and informed safeguarding decisions to ensure children receive appropriate support and protection.
- Short-Term Intervention: Undertake signposting, information sharing, and short interventions where required.
- Safeguarding Practice: Work in accordance with the Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2014 and All Wales Safeguarding Procedures.
- Multi-Agency Working: Collaborate with partner agencies within the MASH framework to provide coordinated responses to safeguarding concerns.
- Risk Assessment: Assess risk and identify appropriate pathways for intervention and support.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate case records and documentation in line with service standards and statutory requirements.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Social Work Qualification: Degree in Social Work or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Registration: Current registration with Social Care Wales.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience within Children's Social Care.
- Safeguarding Expertise: Strong experience in child protection, safeguarding, and Section 47 assessments and interventions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Teamwork: Proven ability to work effectively within multi-agency and multidisciplinary environments.
- IT Skills: Confident using electronic case management systems and relevant digital platforms.
