Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Social Worker to join the Looked After Children Team in Leeds. This is an ongoing locum position offering a competitive hourly rate of £35.00 with flexible part-time or full-time working options.

You will play a key role in delivering a high-quality, child-centred service to children and young people in care and care leavers, helping to secure safe, stable, and permanent outcomes.

What You Will Do

• Deliver a high-quality, child-centred social work service to Looked After Children and care leavers.

• Hold and manage a caseload, ensuring effective care planning, pathway planning, and permanence planning.

• Undertake statutory visits, reviews, and assessments in line with legislation and local procedures.

• Prepare and present high-quality reports for Looked After Reviews, courts, panels, and permanency meetings.

• Work in partnership with foster carers, residential providers, IROs, education, health, and partner agencies to ensure children’s voices are central to decision-making.

• Explore and progress permanence options including reunification, long-term fostering, Special Guardianship, and adoption.

• Support young people in their transition to independence and adulthood.

• Maintain accurate, timely case records in line with safeguarding and data quality standards.

• Engage in supervision, training, and continuous professional development.
