Job Overview

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Team Manager to lead the Leaving Care Team in Halton. This is an ongoing locum position offering a competitive hourly rate of £46.00 with flexible part-time or full-time working options.

In this pivotal leadership role, you will provide strong, visible, and effective management to a service supporting care-experienced young people aged 16–25, ensuring they are safeguarded and supported to achieve positive outcomes in independence, education, employment, health, and wellbeing.

What You Will Do

  • Provide day-to-day leadership, management, and professional supervision to the team, including Social Workers and Personal Advisors.

  • Ensure high standards of practice and compliance with statutory guidance and legislation.

  • Oversee caseload allocation and workload management, using performance data, audits, and feedback to drive service improvement.

  • Ensure Halton Borough Council meets its duties under the Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000 and other relevant legislation.

  • Maintain quality assurance of pathway plans, assessments, and reports, and lead on complex case management.

  • Establish and maintain robust safeguarding practices, including oversight of high-risk cases.

  • Develop and strengthen partnership working with housing, education, training providers, and partner agencies.

  • Manage team budgets, performance indicators, and ensure statutory timescales are consistently met.
