An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6/7 Speech & Language Therapist to join a Stroke Team in Bristol. This is a full-time, ongoing locum role offering a competitive hourly rate of £26.00 – £31.00, depending on experience.

You will play a vital role in delivering specialist Speech & Language Therapy services to patients recovering from stroke, supporting their communication and swallowing needs within a dynamic multidisciplinary environment.

What You Will Do

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients following stroke, focusing on communication and swallowing difficulties.

  • Design and deliver individualised rehabilitation programmes addressing aphasia, apraxia of speech, cognitive-communication disorders, and dysphagia.

  • Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic, patient-centred care.

  • Monitor, review, and adapt therapy plans based on patient progress.

  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in line with professional standards.

  • Engage in ongoing professional development, particularly within stroke and neuro rehabilitation.

Requirements

  • HCPC registration is essential.

  • You must be a confident car driver due to travel across community settings in and around Bristol.
