Role overview:

As a Social Worker in the Locality Team, you will work directly with children, families, or adults within a defined geographical area to deliver statutory social work services. The role focuses on assessment, care planning, direct intervention, and review, promoting safeguarding, wellbeing, and positive long-term outcomes. You will manage a diverse caseload and work closely with partner agencies to provide timely, effective, and person-centred support.

What you will do:

  • Undertake statutory assessments in line with relevant legislation and statutory guidance

  • Develop, implement, and review outcome-focused care and support plans

  • Manage a caseload of complex cases, ensuring timely progression and review

  • Identify safeguarding concerns and take appropriate action to protect children or vulnerable adults

  • Complete risk assessments and contribute to safeguarding plans

  • Participate in child protection conferences, core groups, or safeguarding adults meetings

  • Undertake direct work with service users and families to promote safety, stability, and wellbeing

  • Support individuals and families through periods of change and crisis

  • Work collaboratively with health, education, police, housing, and voluntary sector partners

  • Prepare high-quality reports and participate in court proceedings when required

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and analytical case records

  • Engage fully in supervision, training, and continuous professional development
