What you will do:

  • Provide a supportive and efficient service to children, young people, their families, and fostering families, ensuring that their needs are professionally assessed and met.

  • Investigate, evaluate, and analyse case information, creating clear assessment and action plans.

  • Develop holistic practices that consider the individual's broader social environment and developmental needs.

  • Ensure all casework complies with statutory requirements and the organisation’s policies.

  • Liaise with and work in partnership with other agencies to support care plans for children and the work of foster carers.

  • Undertake the recruitment, assessment, training, and ongoing development of foster carers to meet the diverse needs of children.

  • Participate in referral and allocation systems ensuring that documentation is current and children are placed according to regulations and standards.

  • Represent the organisation at panels, conferences, reviews, and courts with professionalism.

  • Prepare and submit detailed written reports as needed.

  • Identify service enhancements and support a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Recommend expenditure and represent the team in working parties and meetings.

  • Implement and promote Equal Opportunities good practice and Diversity within the working environment.

Qualifications and experience:
To succeed in this role, you should be a qualified social worker, with a degree in Social Work or equivalent. GSCC registration is required, as well as knowledge and experience in child protection, fostering, and social work intervention methods. Experience working with foster carers and conducting multidisciplinary work will be invaluable.
