What you will do:

  • Lead and manage a team of social workers, ensuring effective handling of referrals, assessments, and safeguarding interventions.

  • Facilitate the delivery of statutory duties, including Child in Need (Section 17) and Child Protection (Section 47) processes.

  • Provide supervision, performance management, and professional development to staff, fostering high standards of practice.

  • Oversee and quality assure assessments, care plans, and reports, ensuring compliance with legislation and local procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Social Work (BA/MA or equivalent)

  • Evidence of continued professional development

  • Management or leadership qualification (desirable)

Registration & Compliance:

  • Registered with Social Work England

  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and frameworks: Children Act 1989 and 2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children, Public Law Outline (PLO)

  • Enhanced DBS clearance
