What you will do

  • Carry out Core, pre-birth, and risk assessments to ensure the welfare of children.
  • Conduct Section 47 child protection investigations to safeguard vulnerable individuals.
  • Write statements and complete reports for court proceedings, representing the authority professionally.
  • Give evidence in court, providing crucial insight and expertise to child welfare cases.
  • Perform home visits to monitor and ensure the safety and well-being of children.
  • Maintain up-to-date case recordings for accurate and thorough documentation.
  • Convene and chair core group meetings, engaging with other professionals and stakeholders.
  • Liaise effectively with colleagues and external partners for collaborative investigations and protection plans.
  • Initiate and manage care proceedings, reviewing and implementing care plans as required.
  • Supervise contact sessions, ensuring the best interests of the children are met.
  • Prepare and present detailed case conference reports, attending key meetings and strategy discussions.
  • Develop and oversee Child in Need plans, tailoring support as necessary.
