What you will do

  • Undertake thorough child and family assessments in compliance with statutory guidelines and standards.
  • Efficiently manage a caseload of children requiring diverse safeguarding interventions, including Child Protection Plans and Children in Need Plans.
  • Identify and assess a wide range of risks, including neglect, abuse, and domestic violence.
  • Develop, implement, and review targeted child protection and care plans with a focus on child safety.
  • Centre each decision-making process around the child's voice, wishes, and feelings.
  • Conduct statutory visits and direct work with families within specified timeframes.
  • Prepare detailed reports for professional meetings, court proceedings, and reviews.
  • Collaborate effectively with multi-agency partners such as schools, health professionals, and the police.
  • Act promptly to safeguarding concerns, ensuring immediate action to protect children at risk.
  • Maintain comprehensive case records to the highest standard in accordance with council policies.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, young people, and their families while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Support legal processes through the preparation of detailed statements and effective court representation.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to equality, diversity, and recognising individual needs.
