What you will do
- Lead, supervise and manage a Locality Team of social workers, steering them towards achieving high standards of practice and effective case management.
- Provide oversight of complex safeguarding, Child Protection, Child in Need, Looked After Children and Public Law Outline cases, ensuring all procedures align with statutory regulations.
- Chair and attend key professional meetings, strategy discussions, legal gateway panels, and multi-agency planning forums, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
- Ensure assessments, plans, reviews, and interventions are completed within statutory timescales and achieve measurable outcomes, delivering impactful results for children and families.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Degree in Social Work, BA (Hons) Social Work, DipSW, CQSW or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Management, leadership or Practice Educator qualification desirable.
- Evidence of continuous professional development relevant to children’s social care leadership.
Registration & Compliance
- Current registration with Social Work England.
Experience
- Significant post-qualification experience within Children’s Social Care.
- Substantial experience managing complex statutory social work services and safeguarding interventions.
- Proven leadership experience within a Locality, Assessment, Safeguarding or Family Support Team.
