What you will do:
- Be accountable for the day-to-day management of a team of Social Workers and other professionals while safeguarding the welfare of vulnerable children and young people in Sefton.
- Support and challenge your team to ensure the delivery of high-quality services, managing risks, and achieving positive outcomes.
- Make effective use of all available resources, employing a range of theoretical and practical approaches to develop interventions for children and families.
- Manage the distribution of caseloads and supervise social workers and non-qualified staff per Sefton’s supervision policy.
- Lead group supervision and chair meetings to maintain high standards and address complex cases.
- Promote direct work with children and young people, actively seeking their views to inform practice.
- Participate in quality assurance activities and tackle under-performance within policy frameworks.
- Represent the Council’s values, fostering a positive team culture and supporting professional environments.
