What you will do:

• Conduct comprehensive Initial Assessments to identify the needs, strengths, and risks affecting children and families.

• Undertake assessments under the single assessment framework and ensure all statutory requirements are met.

• Initiate Care Proceedings where appropriate and progress cases to Initial Child Protection Conferences.

• Develop effective care plans and provide information, advice, and signposting to relevant support services.

• Carry out detailed risk assessments to safeguard the welfare and wellbeing of children and young people.

• Prepare reports for Child Protection Conferences and actively participate in safeguarding meetings.

• Draft high-quality court statements and support applications for Emergency Protection Orders and Care Orders where necessary.

• Attend court hearings and provide professional evidence and recommendations.

• Undertake home visits to assess living conditions, monitor progress, and support safeguarding interventions.

• Chair and facilitate meetings with families, professionals, and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.

• Work collaboratively with education, health, police, and other agencies to coordinate effective support for children and families.

• Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive case records in line with legislation, policy, and professional standards.
