What you will do:

  • Hold and manage a complex caseload of unaccompanied asylum-seeking children and care-experienced young people, ensuring all statutory responsibilities are met seamlessly.
  • Complete comprehensive assessments, including age assessments where necessary, and develop robust care, pathway, and permanence plans to support the unique needs of each child.
  • Safeguard children and young people by assessing risk, responding to vulnerabilities, and implementing effective intervention plans to ensure their safety and wellbeing.
  • Support young people through immigration, asylum, and welfare processes in partnership with legal representatives and specialist agencies, securing the best outcomes for their futures.

Person Specification:

  • Qualifications: A Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work and the successful completion of the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE).
  • Registration & Compliance: Must hold current registration with Social Work England (SWE).
  • Experience: Significant post-qualification experience within Children's Social Care, with proven experience working with looked after children, care leavers, or unaccompanied asylum-seeking children. Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is essential.
