What you will do

  • Act as a key point of contact for children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities, ensuring coordination of services and guidance.
  • Coordinate practitioners and services to provide comprehensive support around the child, young person, and their family.
  • Identify when specialist involvement is necessary and ensure effective collaboration with professionals such as Social Workers, Educational Psychologists, and Occupational Therapists.
  • Arrange and facilitate person-centred multidisciplinary and/or multi-agency meetings as necessary.
  • Promote early identification of children with special educational needs and/or disabilities in alignment with early support principles.
  • Advise colleagues and promote inclusion support within mainstream and universal settings.
  • Work collaboratively with settings and services to secure optimal outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
  • Provide expert advice and support to settings, professionals, and families regarding SEND matters, including statutory assessments and EHCP reviews.
