What you will do:

Lead and manage the Court Team, ensuring the effective oversight of care proceedings and pre-proceedings work in compliance with the Children Act 1989 and Public Law Outline requirements.

Provide expert guidance and oversight on complex safeguarding and legal cases, ensuring decisions are evidence-based and legally sound.

Oversee the quality assurance of court statements, social work evidence, care plans, and permanence planning documentation to ensure excellence in social work practice.

Chair legal planning meetings, permanency tracking meetings, and escalation forums to promote timely decision-making and minimise delays for children.

Qualifications:

Degree in Social Work (BA/MA or equivalent).

Management or leadership qualification (desirable).

Evidence of continued professional development in safeguarding and court practice.

Registration & compliance:

Registered with Social Work England.

Extensive knowledge of the Children Act 1989/2004, Public Law Outline, and family court processes.

Strong understanding of Working Together to Safeguard Children and statutory guidance for looked after children and permanence planning.
