What you will do:

Manage a reduced caseload of complex Children in Care cases, including situations involving care proceedings, placement instability, or complex safeguarding issues.

Lead permanence planning such as reunification, long-term fostering, Special Guardianship Orders, and adoption planning, always aiming for timely action and reducing delays.

Conduct statutory visits, assessments, and reviews in line with the Children Act 1989 and Care Planning Regulations 2010.

Provide mentorship, consultation, and practice support to Social Workers and ASYE staff, fostering a culture of reflective and evidence-based practice.
Person Specification:

Qualifications: A degree in Social Work (BA/MA or equivalent) with significant post-qualifying experience in statutory children's social care. A practice educator or advanced practice qualification is desirable.

Registration & Compliance: Must be registered with Social Work England, and possess a strong knowledge of the Children Act 1989/2004, Care Planning Regulations 2010, and statutory guidance related to looked after children. Familiarity with permanence frameworks, fostering and adoption regulations, and corporate parenting responsibilities is essential.
