Coordinate Critical Site Activities as a Permit to Work Coordinator in a Major Energy Infrastructure Environment

Our Client has a requirement for a Permit to Work Coordinator, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Talacre.

Role Purpose:

  • Manage and monitor all Permit to Work (PTW) systems.
  • Coordinate the permit process and identify potential conflicting work tasks on a geographical and time basis.
  • Manage the PTW office and chair daily PTW coordination meetings.
  • Ensure effective permit control and safe execution of site activities.
  • Support the management of simultaneous operations across site.

Job Role Responsibilities:

  • Assess permit requests.
  • Conduct walkthroughs of site areas covered under permit requests.
  • Collaborate with Area Authorities, Performing Authorities and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure corresponding control of work documents (Isolations, Gas Testing, Exclusion Drawings, P&IDs, etc.) are valid, implemented and correctly referenced.
  • Issue and authorise permits.
  • Coordinate with principal contractors, contractors and subcontractors.
  • Manage simultaneous operations and oversee site activities.
  • Monitor active permits.
  • Identify hazards and support risk mitigation activities.
  • Manage permit close-outs.
  • Maintain the permit register.
  • Carry out auditing and compliance monitoring of the PTW system.
  • Maintain oversight of site activities to ensure effective permit control and management of simultaneous operations.

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Permit to Work (PTW) Officer or in a similar role within the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Strong understanding of Permit to Work systems and Control of Work processes.
  • Experience coordinating multiple work scopes across operational sites.
  • Ability to liaise effectively with contractors, subcontractors and site management teams.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of hazard identification and safe systems of work.
