Lead Quality Management Opportunity - Drive Quality Excellence on a Major High-Security Infrastructure Project

Our Client has a requirement for a Quality Management Lead, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Aldermaston.

Role Purpose:

  • Ensure client quality requirements are complied with across the full project lifecycle, including Design, Procurement, Manufacture, Testing, Shipping, Construction/Installation, Test/Commissioning and Project Handover.
  • Lead quality management activities on a major project within a highly regulated environment.
  • Provide quality leadership and assurance across internal teams and the supply chain.
  • Report directly to the Portfolio Head of Quality.

Job Role Responsibilities:

  • Managing a team of Quality professionals to deliver a key project.
  • Responsible for managing and investigating project Non-conformities and Issues and undertaking actions to resolve issues relating to the implementation of Quality and bring about improvements and support other functions in these actions.
  • Leading and reporting on the Client Feedback process.
  • Production of Project Quality Plans and deployment of key contractual and client requirements within both the internal team and Supply Chain.
  • Project Quality Planning including the creation, review, acceptance and ongoing monitoring of Inspection and Test Plans for both manufacture and on-site installation works.
  • Ensuring concurrent Lifetime Quality record review and compilation and project handover.
  • Coordinate, monitor and improve efficiency of manufacturing documentation reviews where applicable.
  • Responsible for creating and implementing the project audit schedule and prompt resolution of findings.
  • Supporting Third Party and Client audits.
  • Creation of Quality reports and dashboards to be presented in monthly project reviews and maintaining Client KPIs.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Championing cost efficiencies through continuous improvement initiatives.

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:

  • 10 years' experience in a Quality Assurance/Control Management role within a construction environment, with a proven track record of delivering results.
  • Valid SC Clearance or ability to obtain clearance.
  • Proven leadership experience working in a quality assurance/control environment within a highly regulated industry.
  • CQI Membership - Chartered Quality Professional (preferred).
  • Experience of working on Civil Nuclear and Defence sites.
  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor qualification.
  • Experience of supporting Third Party audits to ISO 9001 standards.
  • Experience of carrying out Internal Audits and Supply Chain Audits.
  • Ability to generate Quality Procedures and Work Instructions, including Inspection and Test Plans and Project Quality Plans.
  • Experience of continuous improvement tools and techniques.
  • Able to interact and influence at all levels within the organisation and with clients and third-party organisations.
  • Ability to prioritise task execution within tight programme constraints.
  • Ability to analyse situations objectively.
  • Strong negotiating and conflict resolution skills.
