Location: Pontypridd, Rhondda Cynon Taf
Pay Rate: PAYE £23.98 per hour | Umbrella £30.84 per hour
Contract: Temporary
Duration: 12 Weeks
Hours: 30 Hours per Week
Seven Resourcing is currently recruiting for an Experienced Social Worker to join a Disabled Children’s Service in Pontypridd on a temporary basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Children’s Social Worker to support a specialist service dedicated to improving outcomes for children and young people with lifelong, permanent, and substantial disabilities. The successful candidate will focus on completing eligibility assessments for ongoing support and intervention, working closely with children, families, and partner agencies.
About the Service
The Disabled Children’s Service is made up of five specialist teams:
• Enablement Team
• 0–11 Team
• 11+ Team
• Eligibility Team
• Occupational Therapy Team
The service works collaboratively with children, families, health professionals, education providers, and other key agencies to ensure children receive the support they need to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake eligibility assessments for children and young people with disabilities.
- Complete comprehensive assessments in line with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with families, carers, education providers, health professionals, and partner agencies.
- Identify support needs and make appropriate recommendations for services and interventions.
- Produce high-quality assessment reports and maintain accurate case records.
- Contribute to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Participate in multi-agency meetings where required.
- Ensure all work is completed within statutory timescales and service standards.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work qualification.
- Registered with Social Care Wales.
- Significant experience working within Children’s Services.
- Experience completing assessments involving children with disabilities and their families.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, safeguarding procedures, and best practice.
- Excellent assessment, communication, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary environment.
