What you will do:
- Attend all calls as requested and directed by the call centre
- Undertake clinical assessments and provide high-standard clinical care for patients in detention
- Assess fitness for detention, interview, release, or transfer
- Provide healthcare interventions for minor illnesses or injuries and refer serious conditions appropriately
- Conduct forensic examinations and record injuries or collect DNA evidence
- Examine and manage injuries of police officers or staff
- Collect specimens as required by legislation
- Work within the scope of PACE legislation Code C
- Provide written statements and oral testimony in court or tribunals as required
- Maintain complete and accurate clinical records
- Assess alcohol and drug intoxication and withdrawal
- Undertake mental health and learning disability assessments
- Support the development of medical services in collaboration with the Clinical Lead and Head of Clinical Operations
- Promote and conduct policies on equality, respect, governance, and safeguarding
- Use our RADAR system effectively
- Fulfil any other duties as required
Personal Specification:
Essential:
- Registered Adult Nurse or Paramedic
- Minimum of two years qualified (or three years depending on the contract)
- NMC or HCPC registration
- Venipuncture skills
- UK residency for at least three years
- Nursing experience in A&E ITU EAU SAU Nurse Practitioner Practice Nurse drug and alcohol services
- Valid UK driving licence with access to a car for work
Desirable:
- Leadership course or qualification
- Experience working closely with team members and external parties
- Experience in innovative practice
