What you will do:

• Assess and manage adults with swallowing difficulties.
• Undertake comprehensive dysphagia assessments and develop effective treatment plans.
• Manage your own adult acute Speech and Language Therapy caseload.
• Deliver evidence-based interventions to improve patient outcomes.
• Design and implement bespoke individualised treatment plans for your patients.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams for holistic patient care.
• Support safe oral intake and effective swallowing management.
• Educate patients, carers, and staff, providing professional advice and guidance.
• Maintain meticulous clinical documentation and compile detailed reports.
• Play a role in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.

Requirements:

• Degree or Diploma in Speech and Language Therapy.
• HCPC registration.
• Previous experience in adult acute Speech and Language Therapy.
• Expertise in dysphagia management for adults.
• Familiarity with the dynamics of acute hospital wards.
• Ability to independently manage a caseload.
• Proficient clinical assessment and reasoning skills.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
• Experience in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Desirable Requirements:

• Previous NHS experience in acute Speech and Language Therapy.
• Experience managing complex adult dysphagia cases.
• Familiarity with inpatient hospital services.
