Social Work Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) within Child and Young Person in Walsall earning £38.00 Umbrella Hourly.

What you will do:
- Chair and coordinate Child in Care Reviews and related meetings, ensuring adherence to statutory timescales.
- Independently monitor and quality assure care planning and service delivery standards.
- Prioritise children's wishes, feelings, rights, and outcomes in all planning and decision-making.
- Proactively identify and challenge delays or poor practices, escalating concerns when needed.
- Assess the Local Authority’s performance as a Corporate Parent and recommend service improvements.
- Provide professional guidance, as well as support, to social work practitioners and managers.
- Offer advice on relevant legislation, policies, procedures, and safeguarding issues affecting Children in Care.
- Ensure that care plans reflect equality, diversity, and inclusion, tailored to each child's unique needs and background.
