What you will do:
- Complete Occupational Therapy assessments within an Urgent Response service.
- Undertake complex Moving and Handling risk assessments.
- Assess high-risk community cases requiring urgent intervention.
- Recommend and provide innovative equipment solutions.
- Review cases where existing equipment is no longer suitable.
- Develop safe moving and handling plans to reduce risks of carer injury.
- Support discharge avoidance and independence within the community.
- Manage a caseload autonomously across Barnet.
- Participate in Duty OT responsibilities one day per week.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Maintain accurate records, assessments, and care plans.
- Contribute to the delivery of a responsive, urgent community service.
Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
- HCPC registration.
- Experience in Adult Social Care Occupational Therapy.
- Familiarity with complex Moving and Handling procedures.
- Proven ability to assess and recommend appropriate equipment.
- Capability of managing urgent and complex cases independently.
- Strong assessment and clinical reasoning skills within a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Collaborative team-working skills.
- Preferable: Experience with Urgent Response Teams.
- Preferable: Community Occupational Therapy and Local Authority experience.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred.
