What you will do:

  • Receive, assess, and manage responsive repair requests, ensuring issues are addressed within agreed timescales.

  • Raise work orders and allocate repairs to the most appropriate contractors or operational teams.

  • Monitor contractor performance, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

  • Conduct property inspections to assess repair requirements and verify completed work.

  • Deliver excellent customer service by managing tenant expectations and responding effectively to enquiries and concerns.

  • Ensure compliance with housing standards, health and safety regulations, and relevant legislation.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using the council's systems and procedures.

  • Liaise with tenants, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure effective communication and service delivery.

  • Support service improvement initiatives designed to enhance repair performance and customer satisfaction.

  • Contribute to achieving value for money through effective monitoring and management of repair works.

Person Specification:

  • GCSE-level education or equivalent qualification.

  • Relevant experience within housing, construction, property maintenance, or property management.

  • Experience working within social housing, repairs services, or contractor management environments.

  • Full UK driving licence is essential.

  • Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and housing maintenance standards.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and workloads.

  • Strong organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

  • Experience liaising with contractors and monitoring service performance.
