Advanced Social Worker, Children Looked After Team within Exeter (UK), earning up to £42 per hour DoE. This locum role extends over three months with full-time working from home, save for occasional visits to Devon for supervision meetings. This is an exciting opportunity! We are on the lookout for an experienced social worker to join our Corporate Parenting Team. You will play a crucial role in supporting children and young people in our care, as well as collaborating closely with the Team Manager. You'll manage a small caseload of approximately 8-9 young people currently placed outside Devon, focusing on facilitating their return to the area.

What you will do:

  • Manage a caseload of 8-9 young people from Devon placed outside the county, aiming to facilitate their return.
  • Conduct bi-weekly meetings with each young person, focusing on progress and support.
  • Collaborate effectively with a range of partners and the young people to manage and support their transition.
  • Undertake necessary travel and overnight stays as part of your role, with expenses covered.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, procedures, and policies.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate records to support interventions and outcomes.
  • Contribute to multi-agency meetings and court proceedings as required.


What You’ll Bring:

  • A recognised social work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
  • At least five years of advanced-level experience post-qualification, with a strong track record of ongoing professional development.
  • A solid background in multi-agency working and court proceedings, showcasing your expertise and ability to lead.
  • Excellent communication and planning skills, essential for delivering high-quality care.
  • A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle to manage travel requirements efficiently.
