This role begins in January and is set for an initial period of 3 months, with a possible extension. You'll be managing all aspects of fleet maintenance for the Local Authority, ensuring everything runs smoothly within budget and meets required standards. With a competitive pay of £28.95 per hour via umbrella and £22.20 PAYE, this full-time position offers a busy 37-hour workweek from Monday to Friday.

What you will do:
- Oversee servicing and repairs of vehicles, plant, and associated equipment, ensuring they meet acceptable standards efficiently.
- Manage the preparation and certification of vehicles for MOT/HGV tests as the Authorised Examiner Delegated Manager.
- Lead a team of employees, aligning their skills and capabilities with business needs while managing recruitment, motivation, training, and discipline matters.
- Plan and control all aspects of municipal maintenance, including quality control and training.
- Support operational business activities, focusing on Health and Safety and staff welfare.
- Contribute to monitoring and budget activities with accurate information.
- Stay informed on service developments, regulations, policies, and procedures related to the maintenance of municipal fleet vehicles.
- Perform any additional duties as requested by management within the scope of the post.
About You:
To be successful, you should hold a Level 3 Motor Vehicle Qualification and be ready to attain a Level 4 qualification within a year of appointment. Substantial experience in managing personnel in a multi-vehicle type fleet maintenance environment is essential.
