What you will do:

• Assessments & Planning: Undertake Care Act 2014 assessments, reviews, and support planning to promote independence

• Caseload Management: Manage complex cases including risk assessments, care management, and safeguarding enquiries

• Mental Capacity Work: Complete assessments under the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and support Best Interest decisions

• Safeguarding: Lead and contribute to Section 42 safeguarding enquiries and risk management

• Multi-Agency Working: Collaborate with health, housing, and other partners to coordinate care packages

• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for panels or court as required

This locum role requires a Degree in Social Work (BA/MA or equivalent), evidence of post-qualifying professional development, and registration with Social Work England. You should have sound knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Safeguarding Adults procedures, along with an Enhanced DBS clearance. Your skills will include strong assessment, care planning and risk management within Adult Social Care, strengths-based and person-centred practice, safeguarding, legal frameworks and multi-agency working and stakeholder engagement. Experience completing assessments and working within learning disabilities or autism settings is also essential.
