This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving team as a Locum Hospital Social Worker within the Learning Disabilities and Autism Team based in Surrey/Redhill. Our hospital is situated on the outskirts of Redhill, serving East and Mid Surrey as well as West Sussex. We are looking for someone with a solid understanding of acute hospital settings and experience with the Care Act and MCA frameworks. Regular interaction with diverse healthcare teams means this role will never be dull. You will be taking on some of the most complex cases in the team with a focus on quick yet safe discharges.

What you will do:
- Manage the discharge of adults from East Surrey Hospital, ensuring robust support systems are in place upon their return home.
- Employ strengths-based practices with a focus on customer service while navigating acute healthcare systems.
- Undertake risk management for clients wishing to remain at home, providing evidence for alternative options when necessary.
- Conduct Mental Capacity Act assessments and Care Act assessments to uphold legal and ethical standards.
- Engage in regular ward attendance and perform home visits to coordinate with carers, healthcare providers, and other specialists.
- Work on complex cases involving high turnover, maintaining a close liaison with adults, families, and specialist teams.
