What you will do:

  • Provide a specialist client-centred occupational therapy service to clients referred to the Community Neuro Service.
  • Manage and prioritise your own caseload of complex cases independently, applying clinical reasoning skills in line with evidence-based and client-centred principles.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to formulate a diagnosis and treatment plan aimed at reducing disability and ill health.
  • Provide supervision, teaching, and appraisal for rehab support workers and students on placement, fostering the next generation of healthcare professionals.
  • Liaise effectively with the inpatient stroke multidisciplinary team and Community Neuro Service to ensure seamless care across the neuro pathway.

Requirements of the Occupational Therapist:

  • Hold a degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy.
  • Possess recent UK experience as an Occupational Therapist, ideally within the NHS.
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Experience in working in a community healthcare setting is highly desirable.
