What you will do:
- Undertake pre-birth assessments in accordance with statutory guidance, identifying risks and strengths within families to ensure the best outcomes for children.
- Develop and implement robust child protection and safety plans, considering Public Law Outline where necessary to protect vulnerable children.
- Collaborate closely with midwives, health visitors, hospitals, legal services, and other partner agencies to ensure comprehensive support for families.
- Attend and contribute to Child Protection Conferences, Legal Gateway Meetings, and Family Group Conferences, advocating for the child’s best interests.
- Support parents through early intervention by offering guidance and connecting them with necessary services for their wellbeing.
- Prepare clear and evidence-based reports for court proceedings and case conferences, maintaining high professional standards.
- Ensure permanency planning where assessments indicate that the child cannot safely remain in the care of birth parents.
- Conduct direct work with families, incorporating techniques such as motivational interviewing, parenting support, and capacity-to-change assessments.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive case records, adhering to Social Work England Code of Practice.
