Senior Quantity Surveyor – Water Infrastructure | Oswestry | Hybrid Working

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor ready to take on a challenge with a major infrastructure framework?

 

On behalf of our client – a leading integrated design and build provider in the water sector – we’re seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their established Commercial team based in Oswestry, with hybrid working available.

 

This is an opportunity to join a high-performing team on essential water infrastructure projects, working closely with internal teams and external partners across design, construction, and supply chain functions.

 

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will report directly to the Commercial Manager and be responsible for the commercial management of one or more significant projects. You will play a key role in ensuring commercial success, contractual compliance, and value delivery across the programme.

 

 Key Responsibilities

 

         ·         Lead quantity surveying activities across allocated projects and work packages

 

         ·         Liaise with design, construction, and supply chain teams to monitor and control project costs

 

         ·         Work closely with clients to meet contractual and business objectives

 

         ·         Manage the main contract and ensure timely and appropriate contractual notices

 

         ·         Prepare and issue subcontract documentation and manage subcontractor performance

 

         ·         Lead on applications for payment, valuations, and cost forecasting

 

         ·         Produce cost and value reports, budgets, and commercial forecasts

 

         ·         Support the development and mentoring of junior commercial team members

 

         ·         Contribute to continuous professional development through industry engagement

 

         ·         Promote a solution-oriented, professional, and collaborative working culture

 

         ·         Ensure appropriate confidentiality and uphold professional standards in all interactions

 

Candidate Profile

 

Essential:

 

         ·         Degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related field

 

         ·         Working towards or holding Chartered Membership of a recognised institution

 

         ·         Proven experience in utilities, civil engineering, or MEICA sectors

 

         ·         Strong working knowledge of NEC3 contracts

 

 Desirable:

 

         ·         Experience in leading or mentoring junior team members
