Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant: Candidate Specification

We’re on the lookout for a special Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant who has:

• Graduated with a 2:1 or above in Education, Psychology, English, STEM or related subject form a top-30 leading University
• Holds a genuine passion for working with children in a primary setting
• As a Graduate Teaching Assistant you must have a calm, caring and resilient nature
• Previous experience with children (in schools, tutoring, childcare or mentoring) is desirable but not essential
• A Long- term interest in working in the education or child development sector

Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant: Your Daily Role

As a Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant, you’ll be at the heart of their school day, helping children feel confide3nt, cared for, and ready to learn. Your typical day will include:

• Supporting children one-to-one or in small groups with reading, writing, maths and other key skills
• Assisting the class teacher during lessons – managing classroom routines and helping to maintain a positive, focused learning environment
• Offering extra support to children with additional learning needs or those who need a confidence boost
• Helping with behaviour management and emotional regulation in a calm, patient manner
• Creating a safe, encouraging space where every child feels heard, understood, and celebrated
• Getting stuck into activities, trips, and all the joyful little moments that make primary education so magical
