What you will do:
- Assess applications to ensure compliance with Building Regulations and associated legislation.
- Conduct site visits and meticulously document and record information promptly.
- Provide pre-application and general advice on building matters to clients.
- Execute enforcement duties which include gathering evidence, preparing reports, drafting formal notices, and preparing prosecution cases for the Magistrates' Court.
- Utilise Information Technology effectively to administer Building Regulation applications and related matters efficiently.
- Communicate adeptly with both internal and external clients on Building Regulations and related compliance issues.
- Conduct enforcement actions for non-compliance with Building Regulations, advising on appropriate actions.
- Administer dangerous or dilapidated structures effectively, taking necessary actions to eliminate danger.
- Manage client relationships proactively to market the service informally at all levels.

Requirements and skills:
To thrive in this role, you should have chartered status either through the experience route or via the educational pathway with full Chartered status from a relevant professional body. You must be registered as either a Class 2A or Class 2B-F Building Inspector with the BSR. A solid understanding of Building Regulations and allied legislation along with extensive experience in a multi-disciplinary team environment will be crucial. Your robust knowledge will ensure you can handle a range of Building Control duties, from plan checking to site inspections.
