Graduate Teaching Assistant – Langport Secondary School, Somerset

Location: Langport, Somerset

Start Date: September 2025

Salary: Up to £600 per week

A dynamic and inclusive secondary school in Langport, Somerset, part of a high-achieving Multi Academy Trust, is seeking enthusiastic and committed graduates to join the team as Graduate Teaching Assistants from September 2025. This full-time, paid role is ideal for graduates looking to make a genuine impact in the classroom while exploring a potential route into teaching.

Subjects in Demand:

  • Science (all specialisms)

  • Mathematics

  • Modern Foreign Languages (especially Spanish, with some French)

  • Geography

  • Nutrition / Food Technology

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support classroom teaching in your subject specialism or across various subjects as needed

  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment

  • Gain first-hand insight into school life and educational practice

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Final-year students or recent graduates (2025 or earlier) with a 2:1 degree or above

  • Ideally from a Russell Group or Top 20 UK university

  • Passionate about education and dedicated to supporting young people

  • Strong interest in at least one of the subjects listed above

  • Reliable, adaptable, and proactive in the classroom

  • Experience with young people (formal or informal) is desirable but not essential
