What You Will Do:

Lead and manage a team working on referrals, assessments, and Child in Need (CIN) cases.

Oversee strategy discussions, S47 enquiries, and child protection processes to ensure high standards of care and compliance.

Support the team through pre-proceedings, court work, and transitions into permanence or adoption.

Promote and model the council’s restorative and family-led practice principles.

Cultivate a positive team culture and provide supervision that drives performance and development.

Make sound, confident decisions and support staff with case direction, welfare, and HR issues.
Key Requirements:

Demonstrated experience in managing Child Protection teams, including referrals, assessments, and CIN cases.

Expertise in S47 enquiries, strategy meetings, and safeguarding protocols.

Strong understanding of court proceedings, adoption pathways, and permanency planning.

Ability to lead with a restorative and strengths-based mindset.

Skilled in performance management, team development, and supporting practitioner well-being.
