Supervising Social Worker – Children’s Social Care (Fostering / Mainstream Fostering Team / Social Work Qualified)

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:00

Pay Rate: PAYE £30.41 per hour | Umbrella £38.99 per hour

Seven Resourcing are currently recruiting for an experienced Supervising Social Worker to join a Mainstream Fostering Team within Children’s Social Care. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Social Worker with post-qualifying experience in fostering, children and families social work, and carer supervision.

The successful Social Worker will play a key role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in foster care, ensuring high-quality support, supervision, and development of fostering families.

Job Purpose
To provide high-quality Social Work support and supervision to foster carers within a mainstream fostering service, ensuring children’s safety, stability, and wellbeing are at the centre of all practice. The role involves caseload management, foster carer supervision, duty work, and contributing to fostering support and training programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage an allocated caseload of foster carers within a Children’s Social Care fostering service
  • Provide regular supervision, support, and guidance to fostering families
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people in foster placements
  • Undertake duty work within the fostering team as required
  • Facilitate foster carer support groups and contribute to Skills to Foster training
  • Ensure all statutory and regulatory fostering requirements are met within timescales
  • Work closely with multi-agency partners including education, health, and therapeutic services
  • Contribute to placement stability and positive outcomes for looked after children
  • Complete high-quality Social Work assessments, reports, and documentation
  • Maintain strong professional relationships with foster carers and partner agencies

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 3 years post-qualifying experience in Children’s Social Care (essential)
  • Strong background in fostering, looked after children, or children and families Social Work
  • Experience supervising and supporting foster carers
  • Excellent assessment, communication, and case management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-agency environment
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential)
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
