What you will do:

• Provide day-to-day leadership, supervision, and case oversight to social workers, senior practitioners, and assessment staff.
• Ensure the team delivers assessments, reviews, and care plans in line with statutory duties and best practice.
• Support staff development through coaching, performance management, and continuous professional development.
• Oversee the assessment pathway to ensure timely allocation, progression, and completion of Care Act assessments.
• Monitor caseloads and workflow to ensure service efficiency and compliance with performance targets.
• Ensure high-quality case recording and decision-making consistent with organisational policies and audit standards.
• Ensure robust safeguarding practice across the team, including compliance with the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Pan-London Safeguarding Procedures.
• Provide managerial oversight on complex safeguarding cases, mental capacity assessments, and risk assessments.
• Promote a culture of professional curiosity, risk awareness, and defensible decision-making.
• Build effective working relationships with health partners, voluntary and community organisations, housing, and other stakeholders.
• Promote integrated working to ensure holistic and person-centred support for adults and carers.
• Represent Adult Social Care at internal and external multi-agency meetings as required.
• Drive continuous improvement across the assessment function, ensuring strength-based, outcome-focused practice.
• Identify and address gaps in service delivery, escalating concerns where necessary.
• Contribute to service planning, audits, development projects, and policy initiatives.
• Ensure resources are used effectively and responsibly to deliver cost-efficient care and support plans.
• Provide oversight of commissioned services and support packages to ensure quality and value for money.
