What you will do:

  • Manage a caseload of Child in Need and Child Protection cases, delivering interventions that align with statutory plans and agreed outcomes.

  • Implement and review Child in Need and Child Protection plans, ensuring measurable progress and a reduction in risk.

  • Conduct direct work with children, young people, and families to foster positive change and improve family functioning.

  • Lead core group meetings and contribute to child protection conferences, ensuring coordinated multi-agency collaboration.

  • Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns, performing risk assessments and escalating when necessary.

  • Prepare high-quality reports for reviews, case conferences, and legal planning meetings, contributing to pre-proceedings (PLO) when required.

  • Collaborate with partner agencies such as Health, Education, Police, and Early Help services to deliver integrated support.

Person Specification:

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Social Work (BA/MA or equivalent).

  • Completion of ASYE or relevant post-qualifying experience in children’s services.

Registration and Compliance:

  • Registered with Social Work England.

  • Strong working knowledge of the Children Act 1989/2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and Child in Need/Child Protection frameworks.

  • Understanding of Public Law Outline (PLO) and safeguarding procedures.
