What you will do:

  • Lead on screening and triaging incoming contacts, applying threshold criteria to determine appropriate pathways, whether it be Early Help, Child in Need, or Section 47 enquiries.

  • Undertake and oversee complex safeguarding decision-making, including strategy discussions and immediate risk management actions to ensure children's safety.

  • Provide consultation and guidance to Social Workers and partner agencies, ensuring high-quality assessments and the consistent application of threshold criteria.

  • Coordinate multi-agency information sharing within the MASH, collaborating closely with Police, Health, Education, and other partners.

  • Quality assure referrals, decision records, and outcomes to ensure compliance with the Children Act 1989/2004 and local safeguarding procedures.

  • Support duty management, including the escalation of high-risk cases and ensuring timely responses to urgent safeguarding concerns.

  • Contribute to audit, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement efforts, supporting Ofsted inspection readiness.
